Spearwood is a suburb located south of Perth, Western Australia. It is part of the City of Cockburn. The name Spearwood comes from a common bush found in the area, called the Spearwood bush.

A Look Back in Time

People started settling in Spearwood around the 1850s. Alfred Hooker and Charles Manning were some of the first to claim land here.

In 1883, a businessman named James Morrison divided up some land. He called it The Spearwood Estate. This was the first time the name 'Spearwood' was officially used for the area. Soon, Spearwood became a major place for growing fruits and vegetables for Perth.
