List of districts in Bihar facts for kids
Bihar is a state in India. It has 38 special areas called districts. Think of a district as a big neighborhood or region within the state.
Each district has a main leader. This leader is called a District Magistrate or a Deputy Commissioner. They are important government officers. Their job is to make sure everything runs smoothly in the district. They get help from many other officers.
There's also a Superintendent of Police in each district. This officer is in charge of keeping the peace. They make sure laws are followed and help solve problems related to safety.
Several districts (usually 3 to 5) are grouped together to form a division. Each district is also divided into smaller parts called Sub-divisions. These Sub-divisions are then split into even smaller areas called C.D. Blocks.

Understanding Bihar's Districts
Bihar is divided into 38 districts. These districts help the state government manage things better. Each district has its own unique features, like its population and size.
How Districts Are Managed
Each district is like a mini-government area. It has leaders who work to serve the people.
The District Magistrate
The District Magistrate is the top officer in a district. They are like the manager of the whole district. Their main jobs include:
- Making sure government rules are followed.
- Collecting taxes and managing land records.
- Helping people with their problems.
- Working with other officers to keep things organized.
Keeping Law and Order
The Superintendent of Police is in charge of safety. They lead the police force in the district. Their duties include:
- Preventing crime and catching criminals.
- Making sure people follow the law.
- Keeping public peace and order.
- Responding to emergencies.
Divisions and Sub-divisions
To make managing easier, districts are grouped into divisions. A division usually has 3 to 5 districts. This helps coordinate work across a larger area.
Districts are also broken down into smaller units:
- Sub-divisions: These are smaller parts within a district. They help bring government services closer to people.
- C.D. Blocks: These are even smaller areas within Sub-divisions. They focus on local development and community programs.
