List of presidents of Calabria facts for kids
Calabria is a region in southern Italy. Like many regions, it has a special leader called the President of Calabria. This person is in charge of the regional government and helps make important decisions for the people living there. This article lists all the presidents Calabria has had since 1970.
For a long time, until a new rule came into effect in 1999, the President of Calabria was chosen by the Regional Council. This council is like a parliament for the region. The president would then pick other people to be part of the government team.
However, since the regional election in 2000, things changed. Now, the people of Calabria vote directly for their president. This means the president is chosen by everyone who votes, and they then get to choose and remove other members of their government.
