Public Art in Beddington

Beddington is a lovely area with its own unique public art.

Beddington Park Mosaic

In Beddington Park, you can find a beautiful mosaic. It's located in front of the old dovecot, which is a building where pigeons used to be kept. We don't know exactly when it was made or who the artist was, but it adds a splash of colour to the park.

In Trinity Square, on the side of the Shinner & Sudtone building, you can find the amazing Sutton heritage mosaic. This large mosaic mural tells the story of Sutton's history and heritage. It was created in 1994 by Rob Turner and Gary Drostle using small pieces of ceramic called tesserae.

Millennium Dial (Sutton Armillary)

Outside the Waterstones bookshop in Sutton town centre, you'll see a sculpture called the Millennium Dial. This artwork, made of steel, is an Armillary sphere, which is a model of objects in the sky, like planets and stars. It was installed in the year 2000 to mark the new millennium.

At the junction of Langley Park Road and Carshalton Road, there's a modern sculpture called Transpose 2002. This artwork was created in 2002 by Michael Dan Archer. It's made from Chinese granite and shiny stainless steel.
