List of rivers of Denmark facts for kids
Denmark is a country with many waterways! It has about 900 streams and rivers that flow into the sea. Almost half of these are quite short, less than 5 kilometers (about 3 miles) long. However, 52 rivers are longer than 25 kilometers (about 15.5 miles), and 17 are even longer than 50 kilometers (about 31 miles).
The longest river in Denmark is the Gudenå, stretching for 156.3 kilometers (about 97 miles). While the Gudenå is the longest, the Skjern Å carries the most water. On average, it sends 30 cubic meters of water into the sea every second!
