Important Notes About the Sinking Times
Sometimes, a ship was badly damaged at one point but didn't sink right away. It might have kept going for a while before finally sinking later. This means the time a ship was damaged and the time it sank can be different.
British Losses
Most of the British lives lost were from Vice-Admiral Sir David Beatty's battlecruiser ships. His force lost Queen Mary and Indefatigable very early in the battle. Two hours later, Invincible also sank. In total, these three ships alone lost 3,309 lives.
