Honolulu, the capital city of Hawaii, is a big city in the United States. It's famous for its beautiful beaches and sunny weather. But did you know it also has many tall buildings? By the end of 2020, Honolulu had 92 buildings taller than 300 feet (about 91 meters). More buildings are still being built!
The first really tall building, over 350 feet, was the Ala Moana Hotel, built in 1970. After that, more tall buildings like the Yacht Harbor Towers and the Hawaii Monarch Hotel appeared. This started a big building boom in the city. Many new homes and offices were built, especially in the 1990s.
