List of tallest buildings in Markham, Ontario facts for kids
Markham, Ontario is a city located just north of Toronto. As Markham has grown, more and more tall buildings have been built. These buildings, like apartments and condos, help the city grow upwards instead of spreading out too much. Most of Markham's tallest buildings are found in an area called Downtown Markham. You'll see them along Highway 7. Many of these tall buildings are homes for people, like apartment buildings or condos.
Markham is mostly a suburban area, meaning it has many homes and not as many big city offices. So, most of its tall buildings are places where people live, like condos. There are also some hotels and office towers. Some rules about building heights are in place near the Buttonville Municipal Airport. These rules will change once the airport closes.
Markham's Tallest Buildings
This list shows the tallest buildings in Markham. To be on this list, a building must be at least 50 meters (about 164 feet) tall. We measure the height using special rules from the CTBUH. This includes things like pointy tops (spires) and other cool parts of the building's design. It does not include antennas.
A "story" means one floor of a building. So, a 30-story building has 30 floors.
