The Litoria singadanae is a type of frog that lives in Papua New Guinea. Scientists first officially described this frog in 2005. As of 2007, they had only found it in one specific place.
About This Frog
This frog is quite small. An adult male is usually about 2.9 centimeters (about 1.1 inches) long. The female frogs are a bit bigger, reaching about 3.4 centimeters (about 1.3 inches) long. This frog is green, which helps it blend in with its surroundings.
Special Features
One unique thing about the Litoria singadanae is its tympanum. This is like the frog's eardrum. For this frog, its eardrum is clear, which is different from many other frogs.
Where It Lives
Scientists discovered this frog high up in the mountains. They found it about 1200 meters (nearly 4,000 feet) above sea level. This special spot is on the Huon Peninsula in Papua New Guinea.
