The Little Duck River is a small river in Tennessee, United States. It is about 6.5 kilometers (4 miles) long. This river is a branch, or tributary, of the bigger Duck River. The Little Duck River is part of a huge water system that includes the Tennessee River, the Ohio River, and finally the mighty Mississippi River.

Journey of the Little Duck River

The Little Duck River starts in a wet, swampy area. This area is found southeast of a town called Manchester, Tennessee. From there, the river gently winds its way through the town itself.

Where the Rivers Meet

The most exciting part of the Little Duck River is where it joins the main Duck River. This special meeting point is just northwest of downtown Manchester. It happens inside a cool place called Old Stone Fort State Park.

Both rivers create amazing waterfalls and rapids just before they meet. These "cascades" are like natural staircases of water. The two rivers come together at the bottom of a flat, raised area of land. This land is surrounded on three sides by the rivers. A low stone wall, usually about 2 to 4 feet (0.6 to 1.2 meters) high, goes around the edge of this special land.
