Little Falls-South Windham was a special area in Maine, United States. It was called a "census-designated place" (CDP). This means it was a place the government counted for the 2000 census. In 2000, about 1,792 people lived there.
After 2010, new rules changed how CDPs were defined. Because of this, Little Falls-South Windham was split into two separate CDPs. These new areas are now known as Little Falls and South Windham. This area is part of the larger Portland metropolitan area in Maine.
Location and Land Area
Little Falls-South Windham was located in Cumberland County, Maine. Its exact coordinates are 43.731790 degrees north and -70.420378 degrees west.
The total area of this CDP was about 2.5 square miles (6.5 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 2.4 square miles (6.1 square kilometers), was land. A smaller part, about 0.1 square miles (0.3 square kilometers), was water. This water made up about 5% of the total area.
The area was divided between two towns: Gorham and Windham. The Little Falls part was in Gorham, and the South Windham part was in Windham. The Presumpscot River also flowed through this area.
