The Little Maple River is a cool river located in the central part of Michigan, a state in the United States. It's about 16.5 miles (26.5 kilometers) long. This river is a "tributary," which means it's a smaller river that flows into a bigger one. The Little Maple River flows into the Maple River.
Where the River Flows
The Little Maple River starts in a place called Victor Township in Clinton County, Michigan. It begins at the end of Cedar Lake.

Lake Ovid's Creation
Inside Sleepy Hollow State Park, the Little Maple River helps create a beautiful spot called Lake Ovid. This lake wasn't always there! It was made by building a dam across the Little Maple River. Dams are structures that hold back water, creating a lake or reservoir.
Where it Ends
After its journey, the Little Maple River joins the larger Maple River. This happens in Ovid Township, which is also in Clinton County.
