The Little River is a small river located in Madawaska, Maine. It's quite close to the border between Canada and the United States, only about 4 miles (6.4 km) away.

What is the Little River?

The Little River is a short waterway that flows for about 5.1 miles (8.2 km). It starts in Maine and travels west until it reaches a larger body of water called Long Lake.

Where Does the Water Go?

The journey of the Little River's water doesn't end at Long Lake. From there, the water continues through a series of connected lakes. These include Mud Lake, Cross Lake, Square Lake, and Eagle Lake.

Connecting to Bigger Rivers

After flowing through these lakes, the water eventually reaches the Fish River. The Fish River is a tributary, which means it's a smaller river that flows into a larger one. In this case, the Fish River joins the mighty Saint John River. So, the water from the Little River eventually makes its way into the Saint John River, which then flows out to the Bay of Fundy.
