History of Little Rock
Little Rock began as an important stop for stagecoaches back in 1836. Stagecoaches were like the public transportation of the past, carrying people and mail. This stop was along a major route known as Galena Road. This road was also called Chicago Road in some parts. The community got its name from Little Rock Creek, a small stream that flows on the western side of the area.
