The Story of Llanos del Caudillo
How the Town Began
Llanos del Caudillo was created in the 1950s. It was started by families who moved there to build new homes and farms. The Spanish government helped these families through a group called the Instituto Nacional de Colonización. This group supported new settlements across Spain.
Becoming a Local Community
At first, Llanos del Caudillo was part of a larger area called Manzanares. It was then made into its own special area, known as an Entidad Local. This means it became a local community with its own local government.
What "Caudillo" Means
The word "Caudillo" in the town's name refers to Francisco Franco. He was a very important general who led Spain for many years. Franco was the leader of Spain from 1939 until he passed away in 1975.
