Loch nan Eun is a beautiful freshwater loch (that's a Scottish word for lake!). It's located in a very quiet and remote area called Gleann Taitneach. This spot is part of the Grampian Mountains in Perth and Kinross, Scotland.
The loch is about 4.5 miles (7.2 kilometers) west of a place called The Cairnwell. It's a peaceful place, far from busy towns.

Loch nan Eun sits high up in the Grampian Mountains. These mountains are a major range in Scotland. The loch is found in a glen, which is a narrow valley, known as Gleann Taitneach.

How Big is the Loch?
Loch nan Eun is not a huge loch, but it's quite deep! It stretches about 0.31 kilometers (0.19 miles) long. Its widest point is around 0.201 kilometers (0.125 miles).
The total area of the loch covers about 14.5 hectares (35.8 acres). That's like 27 football fields! The water in the loch can be as deep as 15.2 meters (50 feet) in some spots.
High Up in the Mountains
This loch is very high up! It sits at an elevation of 787 meters (2,582 feet) above sea level. Because it's so high, you might even see snow around its edges in the middle of April, as shown in the picture!
The water in the loch is quite cold. Its temperature usually stays between 9.9°C (49.8°F) and 10.4°C (50.8°F).
Water Flow and Islands
Water flows out of Loch nan Eun through a stream called Allt Easgaidh. This stream helps carry the loch's freshwater away.
The loch also has two small islands. These islands add to the wild and natural feel of the place.
