Building the London Array Wind Farm
Building the first part of the London Array started in March 2011. It took about two years to finish this big project. By the middle of 2013, the wind farm was ready.
A Grand Opening
The London Array was officially opened on July 4, 2013. The person who opened it was David Cameron. He was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom at that time.
Plans for More Turbines
There were plans to build a second part of the wind farm. This would have added even more turbines. However, these plans were not approved in 2014. This was because people were worried about how it might affect sea birds living in the area.
