How Londres Got Its Name
Londres was founded a long time ago, in the year 1558. It was given a very special name: Londres de la Nueva Inglaterra. This means "London of the New England" in Spanish. Exploring Historical Sites
One important place to visit in Londres is the Church of the Immaculate Conception. This church is so special that it has been named a National Historical Monument.
Just about 5 kilometers (3 miles) from Londres, you can find the amazing ruins of Shincal de Quimivil. This large area, covering 30 hectares, shows what an ancient city looked like. It has reconstructed parts of a settlement where native people lived in the 15th and 16th centuries. It's like stepping back in time!

Londres is known as "The birthplace of the nut." Because of this, the town hosts a big provincial nut festival every year. People celebrate this fun event in January.
