History

A post office was opened in Lone Elm in 1879, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1956.

Circa 1910, Lone Elm had a bank, a dozen retail establishments, and a population of 175.

Geography

Lone Elm is located at 38°4′47″N 95°14′33″W / 38.07972°N 95.24250°W / 38.07972; -95.24250 (38.079750, -95.242515). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.08 square miles (0.21 km2), all of it land.
