Lone Wolf is a small town in Kiowa County, Oklahoma, United States. In 2020, about 373 people lived there. The town was named after Chief Lone Wolf (1843–1923). He was a brave leader of the Kiowa people who fought to protect their way of life.

History of Lone Wolf
The town of Lone Wolf started in August 1901. This was when the Kiowa-Comanche-Apache Reservation opened for new settlers. The town was built along the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad. When Oklahoma became a state in 1907, Lone Wolf had 307 people. Since it began, Lone Wolf's economy has mostly relied on farming, especially growing wheat.
Geography and Location
Lone Wolf is a small town, covering about 0.5 square miles (1.35 square kilometers) of land. There is no water area within the town limits.
Lake Altus-Lugert is a large lake located about 6 miles (10 km) southwest of Lone Wolf.
