Long Island is a small place in Campbell County, Virginia, in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's part of the larger county. You can find Long Island along the Roanoke River, which is also known as the Staunton River. It's located east-southeast of a town called Altavista.

Roads and Rivers
The main road that goes through Long Island is called Virginia Secondary Route 761. It's also known as Long Island Road. Most of the land in this community is used for farming.
A old train track, which used to belong to the Norfolk and Western Railway, runs through Long Island. It's located on the northeast side of the Staunton River. There's also a place where you can launch boats into the water, located south of the main road.
Historic Places
A special place called Green Hill is located in Long Island. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1969. This means it's an important building or site that is worth preserving because of its history.
