Long Lake is a beautiful lake located in the Central Coast region of British Columbia, Canada. It sits just south of the top part of Smith Inlet. This area is known for its stunning natural beauty and rich Indigenous history.

Long Lake and First Nations Land

Long Lake is an important place for the Gwa'sala-'Nakwaxda'xw Nations. These are a group of First Nations people who have lived in this area for a very long time. Their traditional lands include the region around Long Lake.

Indian Reserves on Long Lake

There are two special areas called Indian reserves located on Long Lake. An Indian reserve is land set aside by the Canadian government for the use and benefit of specific First Nations groups. These reserves are part of the heritage of the Gwa'sala people. The Gwa'sala are now part of the larger Gwa'sala-'Nakwaxda'xw Nations government.

Halowis Indian Reserve No. 5

Toksee Indian Reserve No. 4
