Village History

Lore City has been around for a long time. The first post office opened in 1876, which means people were sending and receiving mail there over 140 years ago! The village itself was officially planned out in 1903. This is called "platting," where they draw up maps for streets and properties. Just a few years later, in 1906, Lore City officially became an incorporated village. This means it got its own local government.
