Early Roles and Vice-Presidency
Before becoming a top leader, Lorna Docken served as the Secretary for the Métis Nation—Saskatchewan. Later, she became the Vice-President of the organization. These roles helped her gain experience and understand the needs of the Métis community.
Serving as Interim President
In early 2004, Lorna Docken stepped up to become the interim President of the Métis Nation—Saskatchewan. This happened when the previous president, Clément Chartier, took on a new role as president of the Métis National Council. An "interim" president is someone who leads for a short time until a new permanent leader is chosen.
Stepping Back from Re-election
After her time as interim President, Lorna Docken decided not to run for any executive positions in the Métis Nation—Saskatchewan's election in May 2004.
Family and Music
