Los Hornos is a town located in La Plata Partido, within the Buenos Aires region of Argentina.
This town is part of the larger Greater La Plata urban area. Its name, which means "the [brick] ovens" or "the furnaces" in Spanish, comes from the many brick factories that were here in the late 1800s. These factories made the bricks used to build many of the first buildings in the nearby city of La Plata. Many Italian immigrants settled in Los Hornos, and the area became known for its numerous family orchards. The town has its own special feel and character.
