Louis Emerick Grant (born 10 June 1960) is a well-known British actor. He is famous for playing Mick Johnson in the TV show Brookside. He has also appeared in many other popular shows like Doctors and Coronation Street.

Louis Emerick was born in Toxteth, a part of Liverpool, England. His father was from Liberia, and his mother was British. He is the youngest of ten children in his family.
Early Acting Roles
Louis Emerick started his acting career in the 1980s. One of his first big roles was playing PC Walsh in the TV series Last of the Summer Wine. He appeared in this show for many years, from 1988 to 2010.
Becoming Famous in Brookside
Louis Emerick is most recognized for his role as Mick Johnson in the soap opera Brookside. He played this character for a long time, from 1989 to 2001. Brookside was a very popular show in the UK.
Other TV and Film Work
After Brookside, Louis Emerick continued to act in many different TV shows. He was in Casualty as Mike Bateman, a fireman. Interestingly, he played a married couple with actress Suzanne Packer in both Brookside and Casualty.
