Lourdes Mohedano Sanchez de Mora (born on June 17, 1995) is a talented Spanish rhythmic gymnast. She was born in Córdoba, Spain. Lourdes is known for her amazing performances in group rhythmic gymnastics.

Her Gymnastics Journey

Lourdes Mohedano has represented Spain in many big international competitions. She is a very important part of the Spanish national rhythmic gymnastics team.

Olympic Games

Lourdes competed in two Olympic Games.

  • In 2012, she was part of the Spanish group at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Her team finished in 4th place.
  • At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Lourdes and her team won a silver medal! This was a huge achievement for the Spanish rhythmic gymnastics group. Her teammates were Elena López, Artemi Gavezou, Sandra Aguilar, and Alejandra Quereda.

World and European Championships

Lourdes has also won several medals at the World Championships and European Championships.

  • At the 2013 World Championships in Kyiv, she won a gold medal in the 10 Clubs event and a bronze medal in the 3 Balls/2 Ribbons event.
  • In 2014, she won another gold medal in the 10 Clubs event at the World Championships in Izmir.
  • She also won a bronze medal in the Group All-around at the 2015 World Championships in Stuttgart.
  • At the European Championships, she won a bronze medal in 2014 (10 clubs) and two more medals in 2016 (silver in 6 Clubs/2 Hoops and bronze in 5 Ribbons).

Lourdes Mohedano retired from gymnastics after the 2016 Rio Olympics. She is remembered as a successful and dedicated rhythmic gymnast.
