Lovie Simone Oppong (born November 29, 1998) is an American actress. She is well-known for playing Zora Greenleaf in the TV show Greenleaf.

About Lovie Simone

Lovie Simone was born in New York City, in an area called The Bronx. She grew up in Orange County, New York. She went to Monroe-Woodbury High School for all four years.

Lovie's mother is African American, and her father is Ghanaian. She has a twin sister named Yuri, who is a musician known as Reiyo The Giant. Lovie also has a younger brother and sister.

She studied acting at a school in New York. Later, she appeared in a national TV commercial for JC Penney.

Her Acting Journey

In 2016, Lovie Simone started acting in the Oprah Winfrey Network drama series Greenleaf. She played Zora Greenleaf, who was the daughter of Kerissa (Kim Hawthorne) and Jacob Greenleaf (Lamman Rucker). At first, Lovie was a recurring cast member, meaning she appeared sometimes. But for the second season, she became a series regular, appearing in most episodes.

Lovie then made her first movie appearance in 2018. She had a supporting role with Jennifer Hudson in the drama film Monster. This movie was first shown at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.

The next year, she appeared in two more drama films. Both of these movies also premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. These films were Share and Selah and the Spades. In Selah and the Spades, Lovie played the main character. Both movies received good reviews from critics.

In 2020, Lovie Simone was one of the main actors in the horror film The Craft: Legacy. This movie was a sequel to the 1996 film The Craft. It was directed by Zoe Lister-Jones.

Recent Roles

In 2021, Lovie Simone starred in the first season of the Starz crime drama series Power Book III: Raising Kanan. In 2022, she was cast alongside Tobias Menzies in the Apple TV+ mini-series Manhunt. She also starred in the historical drama film The Walk. In 2023, she appeared in the science fiction thriller 57 Seconds.
