Lubbub got its name from a nearby stream, Lubbub Creek. The word "Lubbub" comes from the Choctaw language. This is a language spoken by the Choctaw people, a Native American tribe. In Choctaw, the word lahba means "warm."

Past Times in Lubbub

For many years, Lubbub had its own post office. It opened in 1834 and helped people send and receive mail. The post office stayed open for a long time, finally closing in 1907.

In 2011, a very strong tornado passed close to Lubbub. This tornado was part of a huge weather event called the 2011 Super Outbreak.
