Luc Ferry (born 3 January 1951) is a well-known French thinker and writer. He has written many books and is known for his ideas about secular humanism, which focuses on human values and concerns. He also served as France's Minister of National Education for a few years.

About Luc Ferry
Early Life and Education
Luc Ferry was born in Colombes, France, in 1951. He studied a lot and earned several important degrees. He received a special teaching qualification in philosophy in 1975. Later, he earned a doctorate in political science in 1981. He also got another teaching qualification in political science in 1982.
Teaching Career
After his studies, Luc Ferry became a professor. He taught political science and political philosophy at several universities in France. From 1982 to 1988, he taught at the Institut d'études politiques de Lyon. During this time, he also taught at the University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne. He then taught at the University of Caen from 1989 to 1996. Finally, he was a professor at Paris Diderot University until 2011.
Role as Minister of Education
From 2002 to 2004, Luc Ferry held a very important job in the French government. He was the Minister of Education. He worked in the government led by Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin. During his time as minister, he helped put into action a French law. This law was about keeping public schools neutral regarding religious symbols. It meant that students could not wear obvious religious symbols in public schools.
Other Projects and Recognition
Luc Ferry is also the creator of a comic book series called La Sagesse des mythes. This series is based on exciting stories from Greek mythology. The first books in this series were published in 2016. He has also been recognized for his work. He received an honorary doctorate from the Université de Sherbrooke in Canada. In 2013, he won an award for his philosophy from the Telesio Galilei Academy of Science.
