Luciano De Cecco, born on June 2, 1988, is a professional volleyball player from Argentina. He plays as a setter, which is like the quarterback of a volleyball team, setting up plays for his teammates. Luciano plays for Modena Volley and is a key member of the Argentine national team. He helped his country win a bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Luciano De Cecco's Volleyball Journey
Luciano De Cecco has had a long and successful career in volleyball. He has played for many different clubs around the world. He has also been a very important player for the Argentine national team for many years.
Playing for Clubs
Luciano signed a three-year contract with Sir Safety Perugia in May 2014. This was a big step in his club career. For the 2020–21 season, he moved to Cucine Lube Civitanova. He continues to play at a high level for top teams.
Playing for the National Team
Luciano first joined the Argentine national team in 2006. This was just before the World League. He started playing in matches during the World Championship. Argentina finished 13th in that tournament.
His national team won silver medals at the South American Championship several times. They earned silver in 2007, 2009, 2011, and 2013. Each time, they lost to the strong Brazilian team in the finals.
Luciano was recognized as the Best Setter at the South American Championship in 2009 and 2011. In 2011, he also earned the title of Best Setter at the World League. Later that year, on December 4, 2011, he was named Best Setter at the World Cup.
In 2015, De Cecco helped Argentina win a gold medal. This was at the 2015 Pan American Games.
One of his biggest achievements came at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Luciano and his team won the bronze medal. This was a historic moment for Argentine volleyball.
In 2023, Luciano won another gold medal. This was at the South American Championship in Recife, Brazil.
On July 3, 2024, the Argentine Olympic Committee chose Luciano De Cecco as a flag bearer. He shared this honor with field hockey player Rocío Sánchez Moccia for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
