The History of Luck Village
Luck started as two separate small communities. One was called Luck, located near Big Butternut Lake. The other was West Denmark, founded by Danish immigrants in 1869. West Denmark was a bit further west, around Little Butternut Lake.
These two communities realized it would be better to join together. However, they couldn't agree on where the main town center should be. The problem was solved when the railroad decided to build its tracks near the eastern settlement, which was Luck.
Luck officially became a village in 1905. This was a few years later than many other villages nearby. For a time, Luck was also home to the main factory for Duncan Toys Company, famous for making Yo-Yos!
