Lucy Gallardo (born December 13, 1929 – died August 11, 2012) was a talented actress and screenwriter. She was born in Argentina and later became a Mexican citizen. Lucy Gallardo was famous for her many roles in Mexican movies and TV shows called telenovelas. She was married to the well-known Mexican actor Enrique Rambal.

Lucy Gallardo acted in many films during her career. A very famous movie she was in was The Exterminating Angel (1962). This film was directed by the famous Luis Buñuel. In this movie, she acted alongside her husband, Enrique Rambal. They also played a funny couple in the comedy film El Mundo de los Aviones.
She also had many roles in popular Mexican telenovelas. These are long TV dramas that are very popular in Latin America. One of her famous roles was Lucy Scala in El Amor Tiene Cara de Mujer (meaning Love Has a Female Face).
Besides acting, Lucy Gallardo also wrote for telenovelas. She helped create the stories for shows like Cosecharás tu Siembra (You Reap What You Sow) and La Extraña Dama (Strange Lady). She also performed in theater plays in Mexico, including Aurelia y Sus Hombres.

For the last 25 years of her life, Lucy Gallardo lived in Los Angeles, California. She lived there with her daughter, Rebeca Rambal, who is also an actress and TV host.
In 1997, Lucy Gallardo starred in a radio drama called La Historia de Quien Soy (The Story of Who I Am). This show was special because it was one of the first Spanish-language radio shows made in Los Angeles just for Hispanic people living in the city.
In 2005, she acted in an American movie called How the Garcia Girls Spent Their Summer. She starred alongside actresses like America Ferrera.
Lucy Gallardo passed away on August 11, 2012, at her home in Los Angeles. She was 82 years old and died from a lung condition called chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She is remembered by her daughter, Rebeca Rambal, and her many fans.
