Lucy Quist (born around 1974) is a talented Ghanaian-British leader in business and technology. She is known for being the first Ghanaian woman to become a CEO in the telecommunications industry. Currently, she works as a managing director for Morgan Stanley, a big financial company.

Lucy Quist's Early Life and Education

Lucy Quist was born in London, England. Her parents, Peter and Mary Afriyie, were from Ghana. She spent her childhood living in both Europe and Africa.

For high school, Lucy attended Wesley Girls' High School in Cape Coast, Ghana. She also studied at the Presbyterian Boys' Senior High School. Later, she went to the University of East London. She earned a top degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. She also has an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from INSEAD in France.

Lucy Quist's Amazing Career Journey

Lucy Quist started her career as an Electrical and Electronic Engineer at Ford Motor Company. She became a certified Chartered Engineer, which means she was recognized as a highly skilled engineer.

From Engineering to Telecommunications

After working at Ford, she joined the The Royal Bank of Scotland. There, she helped manage changes within the bank. In 2008, Lucy moved into the telecommunications industry. This is the industry that deals with phones, internet, and other ways people communicate. She worked for Millicom International Cellular, focusing on business growth and sales.

Later, Lucy became the Head of Strategy and Planning for Vodafone in Ghana. She also managed the company's wholesale and business services.

Leading Airtel Ghana

Lucy Quist became the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Airtel Ghana. She held this important leadership role for three and a half years. As CEO, she strongly supported young people getting involved in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields in Ghana. She did this through her company's programs that help the community.

New Ventures and Leadership Roles

After Airtel, Lucy Quist started her own company called Quist Blue Diamond. She also helped create FreshPay, a payment platform in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She co-founded the Executive Women Network, which supports women in leadership.

In 2018, FIFA (the international football organization) chose her to be the Vice President of a special committee. This committee worked to improve football in Ghana. Today, Lucy is a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley in their London office. She also gives speeches at many big events around the world, sharing her knowledge and experiences.
