The school first began in the beautiful Château de Fontainebleau. In 1967, it moved to its current main campus in Europe. The name INSEAD comes from its original French name, which means "European Institute of Business Administration."
Over the years, INSEAD grew a lot.
- In 2000, it opened a second campus in Singapore, Asia.
- In 2007, it started a center in Abu Dhabi, which became a full campus in 2010.
- In 2020, INSEAD opened a new center in San Francisco, USA. This center focuses on business innovation.
In 2012, INSEAD joined the Sorbonne University Alliance. This means it works with other top schools to create a strong, multi-subject university.
