Luis Liberman's Role in Politics
Luis Liberman was picked to be a vice president because he knew a lot about how a country's economy works. He helped President Laura Chinchilla with money matters for Costa Rica.
He also shared his ideas about foreign policy. He believed Costa Rica should focus more on its neighbors in Latin America. He wanted to keep good relationships with countries like Israel, which he called "excellent," as well as Egypt and other Arab nations.
In 2012, he briefly worked as the acting finance minister. This meant he was temporarily in charge of managing the country's money and budget.
