Luke Baldwin's Early Life
Luke Baldwin went to The Judd School in Tonbridge. While there, he also played rugby for his school team. He was a talented athlete from a young age. In 2003, he competed in the Kent County Athletics Under-13 Championships. He placed third in the 75-metre hurdles and fourth in the 100-metre sprint.
Luke Baldwin's Club Rugby Career
Luke Baldwin started his rugby journey playing for Tunbridge Wells RFC. In 2006, he joined the Saracens Academy. He trained with Saracens while still playing for Tunbridge Wells until 2009.
Playing for Saracens and Blackheath
After leaving Tunbridge Wells, Luke was loaned to Blackheath F.C.. He made his first team debut for Saracens in 2010. Overall, he played 5 games for Saracens' main team.
Time with Bedford Blues
In 2010, Luke was loaned to Bedford Blues, a team in the RFU Championship. This was part of a special player sharing agreement. He returned to Bedford Blues in 2012, playing for them while also being registered with Saracens. Luke received good reviews for his performances while playing for Bedford. He also played for Saracens in the Premiership Rugby Sevens Series. In 2013, he left both Saracens and Bedford Blues. His final game for Bedford was against London Welsh.
Moving to Bristol and Worcester
After leaving Bedford, Luke signed with Bristol Rugby. On February 17, 2015, Luke left Bristol to join Worcester Warriors. Worcester was moving up to the top league, the Aviva Premiership, for the 2015-16 season.
Loan to Dragons and Retirement
On July 4, 2019, Luke Baldwin joined the Welsh team Dragons. He played for them in the Pro14 league on a season-long loan. This loan was extended for another season on May 22, 2020. Luke left Worcester in the summer of 2021. After that, he announced that he was retiring from professional rugby.
