Lydia West grew up in London, England. Her family has roots in different places. Her grandparents on her mother's side are from Ireland, and her father is from the island of Montserrat. Her mother works as a nurse, and her father works for a charity. Lydia also has an older sister and an older brother.
When she was a teenager, Lydia loved to dance. She trained in many styles, including ballet, tap, jazz, and modern dance. However, she had to stop dancing because of a foot injury.
