Her Early Life and Training
Lydia West grew up in London, England. Her family has roots in different places. Her grandparents on her mother's side are from Ireland. Her father is from a place called Montserrat. Lydia's mom works as a nurse, and her dad works for a charity. She also has an older sister and an older brother.
When Lydia was a teenager, she loved to dance. She trained in many styles, like ballet, tap, jazz, and modern dance. However, she had to stop dancing after she hurt her foot. After finishing university with a degree in business, she worked as a personal assistant. But she still wanted to act! So, she trained part-time at the Identity School of Acting.
Her Acting Journey
After finishing her acting training, Lydia West quickly started getting big roles. In 2019, she was cast in the TV series Years and Years. This show was created by Russell T Davies and shown on BBC One and HBO.
Then, in 2021, she starred in another show by Russell T Davies called It's a Sin on Channel 4. In this series, she played a character named Jill Baxter. This character was inspired by one of Davies' real-life friends. Russell T Davies said that Lydia's character, Jill, was "the heart of the story." Many people agreed, saying her performance was amazing.
Lydia continued to appear in more shows and movies. In 2022, she was in the Apple TV+ series Suspicion. She also appeared in Mike Myers' comedy show The Pentaverate on Netflix. Lydia has also been in films like Love Again and Coffee Wars. She also had roles in the series Inside Man and Gray.
