Lynne Berry (born in 1972) is an American author who writes fun books for kids. She is known for her picture books like Duck Skates, The Curious Demise of a Contrary Cat, and What Floats in a Moat.
About Lynne Berry
Lynne Berry grew up in Sudbury, Massachusetts. When she was in high school, she won an award called the Frank Heys Memorial Award. This award was for students who were very curious, loved art, and cared about others.
After high school, she studied at Stanford University and Wellesley College. She earned a degree in Biology in 1994. Later, she got her PhD in Cell Biology from Vanderbilt University in 1997.
In the early 2000s, Lynne Berry started writing short poems. These poems were published in Ladybug magazine, which is for young children.
Her First Books
In 2005, her first picture book was published. It was called Duck Skates. This book was illustrated by Hiroe Nakata. Duck Skates was the first book in a series about a duck. There are now four books in this popular series.
In 2006, another one of her books came out. It was called The Curious Demise of a Contrary Cat. Luke LaMarca illustrated this book.
Later, in 2013, she published What Floats in a Moat. Matthew Cordell drew the pictures for this book. Lynne Berry also has a book called Pig and Pug that was published in 2015. Gemma Correll illustrated this book.
