Längenbühl was once a small village in the beautiful canton of Bern in Switzerland. It used to be its own municipality, which is like a small local government area.
On January 1, 2007, Längenbühl joined with another village called Forst. Together, they formed a new, larger municipality known as Forst-Längenbühl. This means Längenbühl is now part of a bigger community.
What is Längenbühl Like?
Längenbühl is known for its peaceful natural surroundings. It's located in the Thun district, which is a lovely area in Switzerland. The village sits at an elevation of 654 meters (about 2,146 feet) above sea level.
Lakes and Nature
Even though Längenbühl is a small place, it has some charming natural features. You can find three smaller lakes there. These include the Dittligsee and the Geistsee. There is also another smaller pond, adding to the quiet beauty of the area. These lakes are perfect spots for enjoying nature.
A New Beginning: The Merger
The decision for Längenbühl to merge with Forst was a big change. When two municipalities merge, they combine their resources and services. This can help them work more efficiently and provide better services for everyone living there. Now, Längenbühl is an important part of the larger Forst-Längenbühl community.
