M>Train was a company that ran half of the trains in Melbourne, Australia. They operated many train lines, helping people travel around the city. M>Train's motto was Moving Melbourne.
The company stopped running trains at 3:00 AM on 18 April 2004. After that, another company called Connex Melbourne took over all the train services. M>Train managed lines like Craigieburn, Cranbourne, Frankston, and many others. They also looked after three underground train stations in the city. Their network was over 268 kilometers long. When they stopped operating, M>Train had 125 trains and had ordered 62 more.
History of M>Train
Bayside Trains was the original name of the company that later became M>Train. On 31 October 1999, the Victorian State Government gave Bayside Trains a 15-year contract. This contract allowed them to run half of Melbourne's train network.
On 1 October 2001, Bayside Trains changed its name to M>Train. At the same time, another company called Swanston Trams also changed its name to M>Tram.
