Macará is a city in Ecuador, a country located in South America. It is found in the Loja Province and is very close to the border with Peru. Macará is also the main town, or "seat," of the Macará Canton.
In 2001, about 11,483 people lived in Macará. By 2022, the population had grown to 12,454 people. The city has its own airport, called José María Velasco Ibarra Airport, which helps people travel to and from Macará.
Climate in Macará
Macará has a semi-arid climate, which means it's generally hot and dry. It doesn't get a lot of rain throughout the year. The temperatures are usually warm, even at night.
