Jermaine Anthony Preyan (born July 28, 1982), known by his stage name Mack Maine, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record executive from New Orleans, Louisiana. A record executive is someone who helps run a music label.
Mack Maine is a childhood friend of the famous rapper Lil Wayne. In 2009, he became the president of Lil Wayne's record label, Young Money Entertainment.
He has helped write many popular songs. For Lil Wayne, he co-wrote hits like "How to Love" and "Got Money". He also helped write songs for other artists, such as "Dreams and Nightmares" by Meek Mill.
As a rapper, Mack Maine was featured on Young Money's hit song "Every Girl" in 2009. He was also on the 2013 song "Tapout" with the group Rich Gang. Both songs were very popular and made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 music chart.

Early Life and Friendship with Lil Wayne
Jermaine Anthony Preyan was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He became friends with Lil Wayne when they were just eleven years old. They went to Eleanor McMain Secondary School together, along with rapper Curren$y and their friend Cortez Bryant. This early friendship was very important for their future careers in music.

Starting with Young Money
Mack Maine's career took off after he competed in a freestyle battle on MTV in 2003. A freestyle battle is when rappers make up rhymes on the spot. He placed 16th out of a thousand rappers. This helped him get noticed.
In 2005, he helped Lil Wayne start the record label Young Money Entertainment. In 2008, he was featured on the remix of Lil Wayne's song "Got Money". They even performed the song together on the TV show Saturday Night Live.
Working on Group Albums
In 2009, Mack Maine was part of the Young Money group album, We Are Young Money. The album had the hit single "Every Girl". He also appeared in Lil Wayne's Behind the Music TV special, which told the story of the rapper's life and career.
He later worked on two other group albums. These were Rich Gang in 2013 and Young Money: Rise of an Empire in 2014.
