Carl Eugene Lilly Jr. (born on March 11, 1983), known as Gudda Gudda, is an American rapper. He is from New Orleans, Louisiana. He became well-known for his part in Young Money Entertainment's 2009 song "BedRock". This song was very popular, reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100 music chart.
Carl Lilly was first a member of a group called Sqad Up. He was in this group with Kidd Kidd and Lil Wayne. After becoming good friends with Lil Wayne, Lilly joined Wayne's record label, Young Money Entertainment. Later, he also signed with Republic Records.

Early Life and Start in Music
Gudda Gudda, whose real name is Carl Lilly, was born on March 11, 1983, in San Jose, California. When he was a baby, his family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. He grew up in an area of New Orleans called the 9th Ward.
When he was 15, he met Lil Wayne. They became friends, and Wayne helped him start rapping. Wayne even wrote Gudda's first rap song! They formed a group called Sqad Up with other rappers named Dizzy and Kidd Kidd. In 2002 and 2003, Gudda appeared on seven mixtapes released by Sqad Up.
Joining Young Money and First Albums
In 2005, Gudda Gudda was one of the first artists to join Young Money Entertainment. This was Lil Wayne's new record label. Soon after, Gudda also signed deals with Cash Money Records and Republic Records.
On May 26, 2009, Gudda released an album called Certified. This was a collaboration album with another rapper named Lil' Flip. People generally liked the album. Later that year, on September 28, 2009, Gudda released his first solo mixtape, Guddaville. This mixtape featured many famous artists like Lil Wayne, Drake, Tyga, and Nicki Minaj. Gudda said the mixtape was a way for him to share his feelings and show people his world.
Popular Songs and More Mixtapes
Gudda Gudda was featured on Birdman's album Pricele$$. He also appeared on eight songs from the Young Money group album We Are Young Money. Two of these songs, "Every Girl" and "BedRock", became big hits. Both songs reached the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He was also on Lil Wayne's album I Am Not a Human Being.
On June 7, 2010, Gudda released his second mixtape, Back 2 Guddaville. This mixtape included guest appearances from artists like Waka Flocka Flame and Lil Wayne. For the next two years, Gudda worked on new music. On November 7, 2012, he released his third mixtape, Guddaville 3. This mixtape featured many popular artists such as Wiz Khalifa, 2 Chainz, and Future. Around this time, he also started a group called Loyalty Amongst Thieves.
Recent Projects and Future Plans
On March 11, 2013, Gudda released his fourth mixtape, Redrum. This mixtape included songs that didn't make it onto Guddaville 3. After this release, Gudda announced he was working on his first official studio album, Guddaville: The Album. He planned to release it in 2014. He also said he would release another mixtape, Guddaville 4, before the album. Gudda also started his own music company called Gudda Music.
Billboard magazine praised his rap verse on Lil Wayne's song "Gunwalk." Gudda was also featured on a mixtape by Rick Ross and Birdman. He confirmed that his album Guddaville: The Album would feature Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, and Drake. On March 11, 2014, Young Money released their second group album, Young Money: Rise of an Empire. Gudda was featured on two songs from this album.
Personal Life
In early 2013, Gudda Gudda was living in Houston, Texas, and also spent time in Miami, Florida. He said he spent most of his time in the music studio. When he wasn't working on music, he spent time with his children.
