The Macmillan Brown Library (also known by its Māori name Te Puna Rakahau o Macmillan Brown) is a special library, archive, and art collection. It is located in the city of Christchurch, New Zealand. This library is very important for the whole country and is managed by the University of Canterbury. It is also part of a group called the Pacific Manuscripts Bureau, which helps find and save old writings from the Pacific Islands.

The Macmillan Brown Library has many different items, mostly about the history of New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. It holds over 100,000 items! These include books, audio and video recordings, and many unique things like old handwritten papers, photographs, artworks, building plans, and small printed items like flyers.

- Copies of Māori Land Court Records, which are official documents about Māori land.

How the Library Started
The Macmillan Brown Library began in 1935. It was created as a special collection within the main University of Canterbury Library. A very generous person named John Macmillan Brown helped start it.
John Macmillan Brown was one of the first teachers at Canterbury College when it opened in 1874. This college later became the University of Canterbury. He gave a large part of his money to help create the Macmillan Brown Library.

The library is located on the university's Ilam campus. You can find it on the second floor of the Te Ao Tūroa building.
