Madieng Khary Dieng (born 21 November 1932 – died 27 November 2020) was an important politician from Senegal. He was a member of the Socialist Party. He held several key government jobs during the time Abdou Diouf was president.

Early Life and Education
Madieng Khary Dieng was born in a place called Coki, in Senegal, on 21 November 1932. He went to school in Paris, France, where he studied at important institutes from 1964 to 1966. He also studied in Dakar, Senegal, at the National School of Administration. These schools helped him prepare for a career in public service.
Serving as Minister of the Interior
On 8 April 1991, Madieng Khary Dieng became the Minister of the Interior. This job is like being in charge of a country's police and local governments. The Prime Minister at the time, Habib Thiam, said that Dieng was an "excellent interior minister."
During his time in this role, there was a very challenging period. This included the national election on 9 May 1993.
Leading the Armed Forces
Madieng Khary Dieng later became the Minister of the Armed Forces in June 1993. This role meant he was in charge of Senegal's military. On 8 July 1993, he signed an important agreement in Ziguinchor. This agreement was a cease-fire with Augustin Diamacoune Senghor, who led the MFDC. A cease-fire is an agreement to stop fighting.
On 15 March 1995, another person named Cheikh Hamidou Kane Mathiara took over his role as Minister of the Armed Forces.
Ambassador to The Gambia
After leaving his government minister roles, Madieng Khary Dieng became an Ambassador. An ambassador is someone who represents their country in another country. He was appointed Ambassador to Gambia. He held this position from 1996 to 1998. After him, General Mamadou Diop became the ambassador.
Legacy
Madieng Khary Dieng passed away on 27 November 2020. To honor him, a neighborhood in the city of Guédiawaye was named after him.
