The Madisson River (which is rivière Madisson in French) is a river in Quebec, Canada. It's like a smaller stream that flows into a bigger river. The Madisson River joins the Chaudière River from its west side. The Chaudière River then flows north until it reaches the mighty St. Lawrence River.
Where the Madisson River Flows
The Madisson River travels through two main towns: Lac-Drolet and Sainte-Cécile-de-Whitton. Both of these towns are located in a part of Quebec called the Le Granit Regional County Municipality. This area is within the larger Estrie region of Quebec.
Its Journey
The Madisson River starts its journey from a lake called Lac du Rat Musqué. This lake is located in Sainte-Cécile-de-Whitton. From there, the river flows for about 58.1 kilometers (that's about 36 miles) before it meets the Chaudière River.
About the Name
The name "Madisson River" was officially recognized on March 6, 1970. This was done by the Commission de toponymie du Québec, which is a group in Quebec responsible for naming places.
