Magali Noëlle Guiffray (born June 27, 1931 – died June 23, 2015) was a famous French actress and singer. She was known by her stage name, Magali Noël.

Her Acting Career

Magali Noël was born in İzmir, Turkey. Her parents were French and worked for the government in other countries (this is called "diplomatic service"). In 1951, she moved to France. Soon after, she started her acting career.

She acted in many films from 1951 to 1980. She was especially famous for working with the Italian director Federico Fellini. He liked her work very much and often chose her for his movies. She was even called his "muse," which means someone who inspires an artist.

Magali Noël starred in three of Federico Fellini's well-known films:

• La dolce vita (1960)
• Satyricon (1969)
• Amarcord (1973), where she played a character named Gradisca.

She also worked with other important directors like Costa Gavras, Jean Renoir, and Jules Dassin. She had a notable role in the movie Z (1969), which won a big award called the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

Later, new directors gave her exciting roles. These included:

Magali Noël started her singing career in France in 1956. Her most famous song is "Fais-moi mal, Johnny" ("Hurt me Johnny"). This song was written by Boris Vian. It was one of the first rock 'n' roll songs ever sung in French!

She passed away on June 23, 2015, just four days before her 84th birthday.
