Magnus Uggla (born 18 June 1954) is a famous Swedish singer, songwriter, and entertainer. He is well-known for his funny and often satirical song lyrics. This means his songs often make fun of things in society or everyday life.
Magnus Uggla was born in Stockholm, Sweden. Before he became a solo artist, he was the lead singer for a hard rock band called JUSO. This band later changed its name to Alexander Lucas. They were inspired by bands like Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper.
In the early 1970s, Magnus started his solo career. His first two albums, Om Bobbo Viking and Livets teater, were inspired by glam rock and art rock music. These albums did not sell many copies. However, his third album, Va ska man ta livet av sig för när man ändå inte får höra snacket efteråt, was different. It had a punk rock and hard rock sound, and it became very popular, selling about 150,000 copies! In the 1970s, some music magazines even called him "The Swedish Ian Hunter" because of his style.
Magnus Uggla has been influenced by many different artists, including David Bowie and The Clash. He even wrote a song called "Du ska va' glad" after seeing The Clash perform live. In 1991, he received a special award called the Karamelodiktstipendiet from Povel Ramel, a famous Swedish entertainer.
