Majid Gheisari is an Iranian writer and novelist. He was born in Tehran, Iran, on December 24, 1966. He is known for writing many stories and novels.

In 2018, he won a special award from Russia. It was called the International Eurasia Award for his book the premier novel. Majid Gheisari has also been a judge at different writing events in Iran.

His Life and Learning

Majid Gheisari grew up in a neighborhood called Narmak in Tehran. When he was 18, in 1984, he chose to join the Iran–Iraq War. He stayed on the front lines until the war ended.

After the war finished in 1989, he went back to school. He studied psychology and earned his Bachelor's degree in 1993. He got his degree from Allameh Tabataba'i University.

In 1993, he started writing on his own. By 1995, he began writing literary fiction. He has created many short stories and longer novels since then.

Awards and Recognition

Majid Gheisari has won many awards for his books. These awards come from both Iran and other countries.

International Awards

  • He won the Eurasia Premier Novel of the Year award in Russia. This was for his book called "Seh Kahen," which means Three Priests.

Awards in Iran

  • His story collection "Negahbane Tariki" (The Dark Guardian) was praised at the eighth Jalal Al-e Ahmad Literary Awards.
  • His books were chosen as top works in 2006 and 2008 for the Martyr Habib Ghanipour Year Book Award.
  • He won the Mehregan Literary Award in 2007.
  • His work was selected for the sixth Isfahan Literary Award in 2008.
  • The Iranian Pen Society named "Seh Dokhtare Golforoush" (Three florist girls) the Best Book of the Year in 2006.
  • He received the Golden Pen Award in 2006 for "Seh Dokhtare Golforoush."
  • His book "Goosaleye Sargardan" (The Wandering Calf) was named the best short story of the year in 2006.
  • "Goosaleye Sargardan" also won the Twenty Years of Fiction Literature Award.
  • He received the Isfahan Literary Award for "Seh Dokhtare Golforoush."
  • His book "Ziafat be Sarfe Golouleh" (A banquet for the bullet) won the PECA award in 2001.
  • His novel "Tanab Keshi" (Drawstring) was nominated for the tenth Hooshang Golshiri Literary Awards in 2011.
